ILORIN IS NOT AWUSA OR FULANI TERRITORY

The Origin of Ilorin: A Historical Insight

"Ilorin is not a Hausa or Fulani territory. Hundreds of years ago, Oko-Erin, or 'Elephant Forest,' was home to brave hunters like Òjó Oníṣekúṣe from Ijesha and Ẹ̀mìńlá from Ìlá-Ọ̀ràngún."

"Ọláderin, from Oyo Alaafin, was the first to settle here. His hut became a hub for hunters, and the name 'Ilorin' originated from the sharpening stone they used for their machetes."

"As people joined Ọláderin, Ilorin expanded. It was initially an Oyo settlement, with no other tribes present. Over time, leadership passed from Ọláderin to his descendants, eventually to Àfọ̀njá, a powerful warlord."

"Afonja's quest for power led him to invite Fulani Alfa, Alimi, for support. This alliance shifted the balance, with Hausa and Fulani presence growing. Despite Afonja's initial dominance, Alimi and his followers eventually

"Thus, Ilorin's complex history began as a Yoruba settlement and evolved through significant conflicts and alliances. Today, it's a blend of diverse cultures, but its roots remain deeply Yoruba."

Still moving On

FIVE YEARS ON REMEMBERING: For SENATOR, ABIOLA ADEYEMI AJIMOBI

Five Years On: Remembering Senator Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi

Today marks five years since the passing of an extraordinary man, Senator Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi. Though the pain of your loss still lingers, so does the strength of your legacy. You were many things to many people: a leader, a reformer, a mentor, a family man. But to those of us who had the privilege of knowing you closely, you were truly one of a kind.
As Governor of Oyo State, you raised the bar of governance and left a legacy that remains visible in every corner of the state. Your passion for development was unmatched; your commitment to infrastructure, urban renewal, environmental transformation, and security reshaped our beloved Oyo State for the better. Your wit, eloquence, intelligence, and strategic thinking set you apart. You were a firm leader who stood boldly for what he believed in, no matter whose ox was gored. Your rare tenacity endeared you to allies and earned the grudging respect of critics.

I witnessed firsthand the depth of your attention to detail, your strategic mind, and your unwavering dedication to delivering results. You were a man of grit and grace, one who combined vision with action. You led with charisma, governed with intellect, and served with courage. Gradually, we are seeing the modern Oyo State you envisioned and worked tirelessly to build.
Beyond politics and public office, you were deeply committed to your family. You loved and cherished your dear wife, the ever-gracious First Lady - Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi and stood as a pillar of strength to your children and grandchildren. That devotion, quiet steadfast, and sincerity were some of your most admirable traits.
Five years on, we do not only mourn your absence, we celebrate your life. We celebrate your courage, your ideas, your achievements, and your enduring legacy. You live on in the transformed skyline of Oyo State, in the lives you touched, and in the lessons you left behind.
May the Lord Almighty continue to grant you eternal rest, and may your memory forever remain a source of pride, strength, and inspiration.
Keep resting Oga. You are dearly missed, but never forgotten.

HOW TO TREAT A SCORPION BITE WHEN THE HOSPITAL IS CLOSED!!!

HOW TO TREAT SCORPION BITE WHEN THE HOSPITAL IS NOT CLOSE!!!

Did you know that most scorpions found in Nigeria are not capable of killing humans with their sting?
In most cases, the worst effects are severe localized pain and tachycardia (fast heart rate), which may last for several hours to a few days...provided the person is healthy and not immunocompromised.

⚠NB: Severe reactions are more likely in children, the elderly, or immunocompromised individuals, and medical attention is still advised if symptoms worsen.

HOW TO CARE FOR A SCORPION BITE:
Immediate First Aid (Mild Stings)
🚦Clean: Gently wash the sting site with mild soap and water.

🚦Cool Compress: Apply an ice pack or cool cloth to the area for 10-15 minutes at a time.

🚦Elevate: Keep the stung limb elevated to the level of your heart if possible.

🚦Pain Relief: Take over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or acetaminophen (Tylenol).

🚦Remove Jewelry: Take off rings or bracelets on the affected limb to prevent constriction from swelling.

👉 When to Seek Emergency Care (Call 911 or Poison Control)

🚦Seek immediate medical help if you notice severe symptoms, which can indicate a dangerous scorpion or allergic reaction:

☎️ Difficulty breathing or swallowing.

☎️ Extreme swelling or pain that worsens.

☎️ Nausea, vomiting, or excessive drooling.

☎️ Muscle twitching, spasms, or weakness.

☎️ Restlessness, confusion, or unusual behavior.

☎️ Rapid heart rate or high blood pressure.

👉 What to Avoid:

🙏 Don't Cut or Suck: Do not cut the wound or try to suck out the venom.

🙏 Medications: Avoid sedatives or tranquilizers unless directed by a doctor.

👉 Medical Treatment for Severe Cases:

🚦Antivenom: In serious cases, doctors may administer scorpion antivenom to neutralize the venom.
🚨 Also, some Doctors administer tetanus toxoid (or a tetanus booster) after a scorpion sting primarily as a precautionary measure to prevent a potential secondary infection of Clostridium tetani bacteria

🚦Other Medications: Sedatives, blood pressure medications, or IV fluids might be needed for severe reactions, notes the National Institutes of Health.

BE MINDFUL OF YOUR SECURITY

Greetings to everyone.
I want you all to be mindful of your security. even as you pray, listen to news regularly.
The country is going through very difficult and unsafe times. Presently, there are calls from foreign concerns to declare Nigeria a failed state. This is because of the level of insecurity present in the country presently.

We all need to be concerned about our safety. Do not say it can never happen to me. No one is safe. Relatives of the President had been kidnapped. Men of God, Security men, etc. No one is safe nowhere is safe. Let us try and observe strict security protocols together with our prayers.

*ONE*
So I direct you all never to stay out of the house late.
Come back home or stay close to your house at the latest 6 pm.

*TWO*
Do not travel in marked vehicles. For example, vehicles bearing names, company, etc.

*THREE*
Do not travel in groups. If you are to go for a program, move alone.

*FOUR*
If your area is being attacked, switch off all lights, including any switch with lights no matter how tiny. Remove all jewellery on your body and wrap your phone in a cloth to prevent light reflection that can betray your position.
If you hear gunshot, leave your bed and lie flat under the bed and out of your window. Get out of sight. Lie close to any wall.

*FIVE*
Do not take a ride in any vehicle that you don't know. Take public transportation at all times.

*SIX*
When you go out, dress normal and neat, not flashy. Never wear any clothes that can get you noticed or identified.

*SEVEN*
If you are going out somewhere, tell someone where you are going to and the expected time of your arrival. If possible don't go alone.

*EIGHT*
On no account should you visit online friends. People who you meet on social media, you should never visit them either in public or in their home or office. NEVER.

*NINE*
Speak very little when you are in public and never comment on government or political issues.

*TEN*
Always maintain call credit on your phone and always ensure you have power on it or buy a power bank. You may need to make contact in case of ATTACK.

*ELEVEN*
If under attack, do not make voice calls, because sound travels faster and quietly at night, just ring the number repeatedly if the person picks, don't speak. Just send a text. When doing that, do it under cover so that your phone will not reflect any ray of light.

*TWELVE*
Don't buy group dresses from anyone for now. No matter how close they are to you , don't buy.

*THIRTEEN*
Don't attend parties that you are not closely concerned about.

*FOURTEEN*
If at all, you come under attack, remember there are only 2 rules to guide you.
*1) DO NOT PANIC*
*2) NOT TO FORGET RULE 1*
If you panic, you will attract the attention of the attackers to yourselves, and you will not remember exactly what you need to do to keep you safe.

*FIFTEEN*
This is not the time to do fashion or to showcase your new clothing and shoes. Anytime you go out wear dress and especially shoes that will allow you to run in case you need to get out of troubled area fast. Wear cheap shoes that you can throw away if they impede your movement. Your dress should not hinder your ability to run.

*SIXTEEN*
Prepare for any eventuality. Do not say it can't happen. Be Prepared. Trouble can happen anywhere, any time. Remember, your life is very important, not your phone or your property.

*SEVENTEEN*
If you have to run, throw away anything in your hand. Save yourself first. Don't wait to pick anything that drops from your hands. Run as fast as you can.

*EIGHTEEN*
If there is shooting, try the rules. Do not panic. The fact that you heard the gunshot means that you are not hit. If you are hit, you will not hear the SOUND.
#. Reduce your height first by bending down as close to the ground as possible.
#. Then try and identify the direction of the shots first, then draw a cross, putting the direction of the shot north or south, run east or WEST.
#. Never run straight lines in the opposite direction because bullets travel in a straight line and never run toward the point of the gunshot.
#. As you are moving out of the troubled area, identify hard objects or structures that you can use as protection where you can hide.
#. If you notice the sound is coming closer, shift your location a little as you continue to run. If not, find a safe place and hide in a sitting position to avoid stray bullets from hitting you.

*NINETEEN*
At this moment, avoid arguments with people. When you notice people are showing anger, don't wait to settle them, move out of the place as quickly and quietly as you can. Just yesterday  in Ado Ekiti, someone was trying to settle an argument. He was stabbed, and he died on the spot. Don't go to places of incidents to go and look what's happening.

*TWENTY*
At this moment, stay as close as possible to your home. Know the shortest possible routes to your home in case you need to get home quickly.
Always keep some change at hand. Not much, maybe 2k or less, in case you need to board public transport out of any trouble area.

*OPEN YOUR EYES AND BE AT ALERT.*
_Suspect everything, including people and places. We'll not fall victim._

*AS COPIED!*

omo oloore

Again, I am bothered.

Of what significant or benefit will it be if at the end of going through the stress of getting PVC, one still doesn't have better options, credible candidates to vote for?

Will it not be a fruitless/futile effort to end up in the hands of some non-performing public office holders and ready-to-syphon money candidates?

Are you also bothered?

*I think it is high time youths started to step forward and contest these positions too even as we continue our drive for the need to get PVC, else we won't stop having these 'square pegs in round holes'.*

What are the points?

1. Get your PVC

2. Encourage and support accessible, passionate, Intellectual and politically grounded youths only who are willing to contest.

*Great nations are not by accident. They are built by exemplary citizens who are poised to have a system that works and promotes good governance by all means. A system where national resources serve not few but all.*

#Anticipate #Youths #Omooloore #Dapo

I am ready anytime to identify myself with noble youths with great objectives and significant intentions.

Let's start the crusade people. I am ready. How happy can you be when you meet a favourite?

Nigeria Musician Saheed Osupa Threatens To Expose Seyi Makinde – See Reason

Fuji singer, Saheed Osupa is currently locked in a cold war with the Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

According to sources, the cold war between the singer and the governor is far from over even after the two were believed to have had a truce meeting.

In a recent show that was held at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, before the musician left Nigeria for a musical tour, he did declare war on the Governor saying he will unearth some dirty secrets about him in his upcoming album.

At the event, Osupa blasted the governor with songs and even promised to reveal some dirty secrets about the governor in Yoruba. “E ti ri nkankan o! gbogbo iwa palapala e ni mo ma reveal ninu orin mi to ma jade soon, e ma gbo wirnwinrin’ (you have seen nothing, I would reveal all his dirty acts in my new song, you would be stunned.)

Those in the know alleged that Osupa’s grudge against Makinde was what he termed ‘use and dump.’

Some months back, Osupa released an album where he told a story of Chief Rasheed Ladoja and Seyi Makinde mirroring it with betrayal and lies.

A 38-Years-Old Zookeeper Impregnated A Female Ape And Claimed it was Consensual

Time and time again we hear of humans sleeping with animals since bestiality is a part of people’s s3xual fetishes. Following this, an Indonesian man has unbelievably impregnated an ape. The 38-year-old zookeeper was filmed in full action by a series of hidden cameras put in place by the zoo’s security officials after concerns emerged about the man’s deceitful actions towards the zoo animals. According to reports, the weird incident occurred in Indonesia. “Some animals seemed s3xually aroused when it was time to feed them” explained Akhiroel Yahya, an employee of the zoo for 14 years. “But what made us most suspicious was when we discovered Marylin, our oldest orangutan, was pregnant. She has never been in contact with any other orangutans because of her aggressive nature, so it didn’t make any sense” he said, visibly troubled by the news.Confused zoo officials also admitted that it took them some time before they were able to explain what had actually happened. “At first, we clearly did not comprehend what had happened,”  the zoo’s director, Abdel Hakim admitted. “Marilyn has been secluded for the past 10 years, it was a total mystery. It is only when we placed several hidden cameras that we learned the horrible truth” he revealed, visibly angered by the whole situation. However, when confronted by local authorities, the offender denied any wrongdoing on his part, “He said everything he had done was consensual,” explained police chief Abubakar Jaar. “He said he loved each and every one of the animals and was very sorry he had impregnated the orangutan,” he told local reporters.

“He says he did not know orangutans could get pregnant from humans,” he added. Many experts believed the man could not have impregnated the female orangutan. However, some specialists claimed a rare genetic predisposition could explain the unexplainable. “Contrary to popular belief, the orangutan species is much closer to the human species than chimpanzees. We share practically the same DNA code, with only minute differences, which could explain the orangutan falling pregnant from this man” explained Paleobiologist Bachtiar Pado Panghulu, of the University of Jakarta.

Particularly in Indonesia, the genetic profile of some of the population is extremely close to the orangutan species, leading us to believe there might have been a common ancestor to both species only a few hundred thousand years ago,” he added. Now, this story sounds unbelievable right. Well, investigations and fact checks indicate this story is a hoax. The story originated from an article first published by World News Daily Report on December 16, 2015, titled "Indonesia: ZooKeeper Accused of Impregnating Female Orangutan”. The website World News Daily Report is a well-known satire website specialized in posting hoaxes and made up stories.

10 Ways to Be a Better Man in a Relationship

1. Express yourself.

Gone are the days when men kept everything to themselves to the point that they break from the inside. The truth is that the more expressive a man is about his feelings, the more genuine he is as a partner. If you feel sad, cry it out! If you feel annoyed, say it! If you feel thrilled, show it! If you express yourself, your partner will not only appreciate your openness, she/he will also be able to effectively help you deal with what you’re going through.

2. Take a pause and listen.
Listening is an art, and it is an art that any guy in a relationship should master. You need to have the ability to not only hear but also understand as well as to react but not interject. Listening greatly benefits both parties; your partner gets a confidant whom she/he can openly express her/his thoughts to, and you gain an indebt awareness about what is going through your partner’s mind, allowing you to comfort him/her better. Thus, always listen

3. Be Mr. Supportive.

Support goes a long way, especially in relationships. For every setback that your partner experiences, comfort her/him; for every milestone that she/he reaches, celebrate with her/him; and for every new dream that she/he shares with you, dream with her/him! The more you show your support, the more your partner will see that she/he chose the right person to fall and stand up with.

4. Surprise to add spice.
Sometimes, our relationship with our partner becomes a little monotonous, if not stale. This is especially true for couples who have been together for a long time already. To continuously add flavor to the romance, surprise your partner every once in a while. Prepare a surprise dinner before she/he gets back home; slip a love letter on her/his bag before she/he goes to work; or plan a surprise vacation for the two of you! You may go for a grand or a modest one; what matters is that the surprise rejuvenates your bond.  Be stealthy and creative!

5. Accept and respect your partner’s preferences.
Just because you’re her/his soul mate does not mean that the two of you should have the same views and beliefs. It is inevitable that you and your partner will not see eye to eye on some matter, may it be on politics, religion, music, smartphone brand, or fashion. You have to accept and respect these differences in preference unless what your partner is into is clearly harmful or dangerous. Accept and respect the whole package!

6. Give and make time
Time is priceless; it is fleeting merchandise that can only be spent once. That’s why giving and making time for your partner is a clear sign that you indeed love her/him. However, a busy schedule can be a real challenge to this, but when things get hard, you have to try harder. It doesn’t always have to be long. A shared meal or a phone call may be sufficient, or worst-case scenario, a promise to have time on a certain date might be a good enough compromise. What matters is that you make sure that you always allot some of your time to your partner.

7. Trust and be trustworthy.
Trust is arguably the most important ingredient of a long and lasting relationship, so it only makes sense that a man in any relationship should not only learn to trust his partner but also be someone worth trusting. If your partner goes to a party with her friends, don’t immediately suspect that she/he will be up to no good; trust in her and her love for you. Likewise, if your partner trusts you whenever you go out with your friends, then don’t do anything foolish and break her/his trust! It’s that simple.

8. Love and improve yourself.
Before a man can learn how to love someone, he needs to know how to love himself first. Make sure that you always take care of yourself as well as make continuous steps toward self-improvement. Do what you love, eat what you want, study what interests you, and reach your own dreams! The better your own disposition, the better you can fulfill your role as a partner, and the more you improve yourself, the more your partner will look at you as an inspiration to also grow.
9. Be a source of safety.
For you to be a better man, your partner has to feel safe whenever she/he is with you. This does not only mean that you should be ready to protect her/him if danger comes her/his way. It also means that you should not be a danger to her/him. Hence, you should be ready to defend your partner from anyone trying to assault her/him, but more importantly, you should never assault him/her. Be the safest harbor for your partner.
10. Have a sense of humor.
Everybody loves a guy with a sense of humor. If you are able to make your partner smile and forget her/his problems or induce happiness and laughter in a gloomy moment, you’re already well on your way toward becoming a better partner. All couples will inevitably face obstacles and mishaps, and being a person who brings joy to even the most trying of situations is sure to make the relationship nothing but resilient.
