CAN GOD REALLY AUTHOR CONFUSION
MARCH 12 · PUBLIC
Scripture is explicit on this subject matter "1 Corinthians: 14. 33. For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints" So what's the matter with so many pastors who come to say God has told them this or that and at the end the reverse becomes the case?
In the run up to the 2019 general elections, so many pastors prophesied the outcome of the election and who will emerge winner. some predicted that the election will be shifted and when it happened many of them took to the media to pride themselves the man who saw tomorrow but when the election later took place all the doom prophecy for president Buhari failed as he won the election only Rev Father Mbaka of the adoration ministry had spoken in favor of buhari. But on the same day of speaking in favor of Buhari, he also declared that APC Hope Uzodimma will be the next governor of Imo state ( Hope actually donated two million naira to the ministry). At the end of the election, Hope came a distant 4th trailing behind Ihedioha, Nwosu, Ararume. Now, how did the man of God see the presidential clearly and lost the governorship? he said Ugwuanyi of Enugu will win and he won. Was he guessing or did he not get it right from God? last year, I watched a video that devastated me, in that video, respected and revered Apostle Johnson Suleiman had adorned himself as a man to prophesies national elections. he went further to say that he had already who will win the then incoming Ekiti Governorship election. In his prophecy, he said the present party at the state Level will retain the power but they will only have one tenure after which another party will take over. He then asked Dr Fayemi to wait for the next time. The current party in Ekiti state of Nigeria then was PDP. Eventually, the election was held and APC will declared winner and its still ruling today in the state. That devastated me as it can give the enemies of the Lord an occasion to ridicule and mock.
What's my thinking on this subject matter?  My thinking is that God has never authored confusion and can not start today. so why the menace? I think the issue is mainly hanged on two points. its either human imagination and thoughts authored the speech misplaced for God or the person did not understand the time and season of the prophecy. I will buttress with a personal illustration.
In 2010/2011, I had gone for National youth service corps (NYSC, a compulsory scheme for any Nigerian graduate under age 30). I located the Nigerian Christian corpers fellowship (NCCF, the family of God) and joined. I was posted to onaara Local government of Oyo state, Ibadan town and was later appointed local government coordinator of the fellowship or what we generally call Papa. Now this means I pray and share the word of God every Wednesday at CDS and also carry the spiritual problem of the members. in the course of rounding off the program, I alongside other corpers registered for the Nigerian institute of management exam (a professional exam). As I was preparing for the exam, one night, I had a dream where I got a text message bearing "NIM, congratulations you have passed". When I woke up I thought much about this, taking note of the fact that u did not pray for God to show me anything concerning the exams. I concluded that God wants to tell me that I will pass the exam. The following day was corpers meeting and I was to preach, while I was sharing the word, I made bold to tell my colleagues that the NIM I am about to write, that God had already given me the result. I told them that God had already shown me that I will pass because that was what I saw in the dream I don't how many onaara corpers of 2010/2011 may still remember it. The exam came, I wrote as much as I could. when the result came out, I was asked to resit a few papers before I can be issued a certificate. what that simply meant was that I did not make the exam. I couldn't understand that, I was devastated. my worry was, why the dream? I charged God with several questions, I told him I didn't ask him to show me anything about the exams, I didn't even pray about it, that I was just on my own and He brought his dream and now its fake. I felt more terrible because I had announced to my NYSC colleagues about the result, now if anyone summons courage to ask me about it, what will I say. These bordered me and I emptied them to my very good friend and my local government NCCF uncle, victor Legbo. He tried to encourage me.  Lucky for me, no one asked me for the result. well I summoned up courage and reapplied to resit the papers, then I was done with my service year, I wrote it and came back to Enugu. Then one faithful evening, I got a text bearing NIM, when I opened it, it said congratulations, you have passed. my mind raced to the dream I had previously about the exam, this was the exact message I got. God actually kept his word, it just that I didn't get the process for it, he didn't show me and I was too proud not to ask. I just wanted to be known as the man who saw his results even before he wrote them, a man who hears God directly, pride will not allow me learn what he was about teaching me and I lost out completely charging him wrongly, falsely and foolishly. I was ashamed of myself that day as I stay at the text message and my dream kept coming to my mind. I knelt down and sought God's forgiveness for charging him wrongly and for my pride.
God most times shows us what will be but we are not ready to ask him how and when, we rush to announce it so that when it will happen, Nigerians will know that a prophet is with them and this is simply pride, an enemy of God and his anointing. God showed Joseph the kingship and his brothers bowing to him but he didn't show him the slavery and prison. Every message you got has an appointed time, can you swallow your pride and seek for the interpretation of the matter, Jesus our master never prides himself as a great prophet, he will always say, see that you told no man but our current prophets and pastors is see that you let the world know.
I therefore suggest that we chew our prophecy, ask God if he is the one speaking or its our imagination and if possible keep quiet on some unnecessary proud prophecy. For example, prophecy of who wins a nation's election or who wins football match is not preaching of the cross and its of no gain to the gospel, its only adds to your ego and pride. I heard TB Joshua sat sometime ago that Clinton will win US election but Trump won and he is still the president. can we please focus on the gospel and genuine humble prophecy of repentance from dead work and leave political prophecy alone with its attendant pride and blasphemy to God's name. I love Christianity and my saviour Christ Jesus.
